Our Activities

Innovative learning

Reciprocal teaching is one of the most successfully implemented cooperative learning practices. Cooperative learning is an educational approach which aims at organizing classroom activities into academic and social learning experiences. There is much more to cooperative learning than merely arranging students into groups, and it has been described as “structuring positive interdependence. Students must work in groups to complete tasks collectively toward academic goals. Unlike individual learning, which can be competitive in nature, students learning cooperatively can capitalize on one another’s resources and skills (asking one another for information, evaluating one another’s ideas, monitoring one another’s work, etc.). Furthermore, the teacher’s role changes from giving information to facilitating students’ learning. Everyone succeeds when the group succeeds. Cooperative learning has also been linked to increased levels of student satisfaction. The four C’s of 21st Century skills are some of the most popular learning strategies in today’s environment.

English Language teaching

The Asean Education Group is the Master franchisee for the Anglia Exam Board (www.anglia.org) for several ASEAN countries. Anglia Examinations has been based in Chichester, England, since 1994. Anglia offers a comprehensive and structured programme of assessing English language competence, from beginner through to full competence as an expert user. This step-by-step approach to testing encourages and motivates students to make clear and effective progress.

Anglia’s General English exams are measuring all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking. There are no minimum age requirements for the exams. The exams are taken by children as young as four years old. The two bottom levels of the Integrated Skills Exams (First Step & Junior levels) are taken by children who can read and write in English, whereas, all other higher levels within the suite can be equally taken by children, adolescents or adults.

For two of the levels, Primary and Preliminary, we even provide a standard version, for candidates who are younger than 14 years old, as well as an adult version, for older teenagers and adults. The upper levels of the Integrated Skills Exams as well as the Business English Exams (4 levels) are taken by students and adults who plan to continue their studies at Higher Education Institutions or to improve their career prospects.

As for professional certification for teachers, Anglia offers C.I.T.E (Certificate for International Teachers of English) examinations. They are designed to give competent teachers of English, who may or may not have any other English teaching qualifications, a chance to obtain international recognition for their language skills, knowledge and experience.

The ASEAN Education Group is actively looking to extend our international network with enthusiastic educational professionals in the Asean countries who share our vision and mission in innovative learning.
